One of the common skin problems is acne in which the hair follicles have dead skin cells and oil production. They appear on the forehead, chest, face, and shoulders. People often ask what is the reason for the problem. In this guide, we will tell you the various causes of acne.

Many patients ask us when what is the reason acne occurs. Actually, there is no specific answer for this because it is caused by different factors which interact with each other. Yes, this is true that having oily skin or dry skin can increase the likelihood of having acne. In this article, we will discuss what are the different factors which result in this issue.

    Primary Causes of Acne

Well, the three basic factors which can result in acne are sebum, inflammation, and sebum.

       • Inflammation

When the acne first develops it starts with some degree of inflammation. All the primary causes are related to each other so reducing inflammation will not reduce the issue.

Keep in mind to add a moisturizer in your daily skincare routine. don’t worry this won’t clog the pores but it will prevent inflammation. Do not pick or scratch the acne.

       • Sebum

When the sebum is produced in the right amount it is very essential for the skin. But, if it is excess then acne will get triggered. If you deal with acne in the right way then the sebum layer can prevent inflammation and acne also.

To prevent sebum production use mild chemical exfoliation like azelaic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. Use a moisturizer which has petroleum or beeswax.

       • Bacteria

Another reason is bacteria which is known as Propionibacterium acnes. They live on the surface of the skin but do not result in acne directly. No doubt, many antibiotics are available but one of the popular options is benzoyl peroxide. If the problem is increasing then you should get the acne treatment.        • Hormones

Sebum production is directly affected by changes in the hormones. As there are various hormones so it is quite difficult to predict which can result in a problem. Studies have shown that change in the androgen level can result in a problem.

       • Stress

If you are suffering from chronic stress then also it can contribute to acne.
