What is a mole (Nevi)?
A mole or moles are colored spots that appear on the skin as a result of cells clustering on a particular part of the skin. These cells are Melanocytes responsible for giving the skin its natural colour and when they accumulate in one part of the skin, a mole which differs in sizes depending on the individual occurs.
The moles are normally brown spots in the beginning, but darken as one matures.
Some moles are not dangerous, whereas others may be cancerous or threat to one’s life

TYPES OF MOLES
- Congenital Moles
They are moles most common in babies and they may become cancerous as the baby grows. They differ in shapes and are usually brown in color.
- Dermal Moles
They are normally found in the upper part of the body. They are non-cancerous and they are brown or dark in color
- Junctional Moles
They are located between the dermis and the epidermis layers of the skin.
- Compound Moles
They are slightly raised above the skin and they vary in size and shapes
